Reports

Answer questions about your marketing performance with reports

A report is an answer to a question about your data in Quotient. Each report has four parts:

  • Metrics: A measurement of some quantity, such as the total number of emails sent, the number of social impressions received, or the number of sessions on your website.
  • Dimensions: A way of grouping a metric into distinct buckets. Dimensions can be objects in Quotient, like people, campaigns, or email broadcasts. They can also be based on time, grouping by hour, day, week, or month.
  • Filters: A way of limiting the data a report considers. Every dimension can also be a filter: a report can be filtered to a specific campaign or set of campaigns, or to a specific window of time. Filters are optional, and many reports don't have them.
  • Visualization: The chart that displays the report. Metrics, dimensions, and filters produce the report's data, and the visualization turns it into a table, big number, line chart, area chart, bar chart, or treemap.

For the full list of metrics and dimensions you can use, see Metrics and Dimensions.

Creating Reports

Like everything else in Quotient, you can create reports yourself on the Reports page using the report builder, or you can ask Quotient to create them for you.

There are two kinds of reports:

  1. Ad-hoc reports: Quotient creates ad-hoc reports in a chat to answer one-off questions. They aren't saved anywhere and aren't automatically refreshed.
  2. Saved reports: Saved reports are for analysis you want to come back to. They live on the Reports page, and when you open one, Quotient refreshes it automatically if its data is more than an hour old.

The easiest way to get started is to ask Quotient a simple question about your marketing:

Which of my campaigns drove the most website traffic in the last 30 days? Show it as a bar chart.

Reports are also available through MCP, which means other AI apps like ChatGPT and Claude can create and run reports through the Quotient connector. Install Quotient in ChatGPT or Claude:

You can also automate reporting with jobs. For example, you can create a job that has Quotient check a weekly report of campaign performance and send you a summary:

Create a job that runs every Monday at 9am: run a report of my campaign performance over the past week and send me a notification summarizing what changed.
