Founding Designer

Quotient is building the AI marketing platform for B2B companies. We're a small team (6 people), seed-funded, and based in New York. We're looking for our first designer to own design across the company, from product to brand.

This is a rare opportunity for a designer who wants real influence. Design is central to how we build, and this role will shape both our product and our brand from the ground up. Our application is full of genuinely interesting design challenges: we're pushing the boundaries of how AI interfaces work, designing novel interactions between AI chat and traditional software interfaces, and rethinking patterns that most products take for granted.

What You'll Do

Your primary focus will be product design. You'll work closely with our engineering team to design interfaces and user flows for our complex, highly interactive application. You'll create mockups and prototypes for new features, and you'll help us build a coherent design system.

You'll also own brand design: our marketing website, documentation, social media assets, and everything else that shapes how Quotient shows up in the world. We're intentional about keeping product and brand under one roof because we want them to speak the same language.

As our first designer, you'll have significant influence over how design works at Quotient. You'll report to the CTO and work directly with the founding team. The immediate need is for a strong individual contributor, but we'd love for this role to grow into design leadership as we scale.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of product design experience, including work on complex, interactive applications
  • Expert-level Figma skills and experience building or contributing to design systems
  • A portfolio that shows you can think through interaction patterns, edge cases, and user flows — not just static screens
  • Strong brand design sensibility with examples of cohesive visual systems
  • Experience with prototyping, animation, and motion design
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with engineers and product

Bonus Points

  • Front-end development experience, or comfort using AI tools like Cursor or v0 to build and prototype
  • Experience at an early-stage startup, especially as a founding or solo designer
  • Background in B2B or enterprise software
